George Russell delivered a masterclass in Melbourne, securing a dominant pole position for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, Formula 1’s opening round of the sport’s new era. On a day where Mercedes appeared to be – as expected – in a league of their own, Russell topped every segment of qualifying, leaving the rest of the field scrambling for answers.
