Bernie Ecclestone speaks out on the qualifying backtrack….. Bernie Ecclestone has elected to speak out over what he seems to regard as somewhat of a misunderstanding, claiming that fans and teams alike were mistaken in his intentions. Bernie digressed the new qualifying was done in an effort to ‘muddle the grid up’. A fair statement and done with good intentions, however, the qualifying for Melbourne wasn't properly prepared with the scoring only being created at the last moment leaving drivers and teams still unaware how it really worked.
