Wolff: Mercedes quit claim ‘mischievous speculation'

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has quickly shut down claims made by Eddie Jordan that the Silver Arrows will leave Formula 1 in 2018. Jordon told the German press at the Monaco Grand Prix that Mercedes will focus on engine development after next year and withdraw from the grid completely. However, Wolff has said in a statement that Jordan is doing nothing more than stirring the pot. 'Monaco is a place where people like to party and it seems like somebody did a bit too much of that,' Wolff said.
