Ricciardo to get grid penalty for gearbox change
Daniel Ricciardo is the latest in a growing list of drivers who will take a grid penalty at the British Grand Prix on Sunday. Red Bull have decided to change the gearbox on Ricciardo's car and thus will take the mandatory five place grid drop for the race. Current Formula 1 rules require that gearboxes last at least six consecutive races, which has not been the case with Ricciardo's car. It is his second gearbox penalty, the first incurred at the season opening race in Australia. Ricciardo, who was sixth fastest at the end of the first free practice day at Silverstone, told reporters, 'I’m still confident that we can fight for a podium on Sunday but we need to make a few improvements to...
