McLaren confirms three-year Renault deal

McLaren has confirmed that it will use Renault power in Formula 1 from 2018, after signing a three-year deal with the manufacturer, in the wake of its split from Honda. McLaren linked up with Honda in 2015 but the partnership has been plagued by a lack of performance and reliability, and after weeks of speculation the parties announced on Friday that they had mutually agreed to split for 2018. Moments later, McLaren confirmed that it had reached a three-year deal with Renault, covering 2018 to 2020.
