Suzuka FP2: Hamilton fastest but rain spoils session
Lewis Hamilton topped the second free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend, but it was a wasted afternoon as the rain came down over Suzuka where soaking conditions did little to inspire much running by the drivers. Most drivers did installation laps, but only five set timed laps of which Hamilton was the fastest in the Mercedes with a best lap time of 1:48.719, which was seven tenths up on Force India's Esteban Ocon in second ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez. Williams teammates Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll were fifth and sixth respectively, the only other drivers to set lap times. Report in progress…
