Sebastian Vettel roars to pole position in Azerbaijan

Sebastian Vettel roared to a third successive pole position in 2018 after a clinical lap ensured he will start at the front of the grid for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The German put together a spectacular lap on his first run in Q3 to give Ferrari their best run of pole positions since 2007, as a time of 1:41:498 was enough to give him a 53rd career pole position. Lewis Hamilton was unable to stop Vettel from taking top spot, but managed to give Mercedes a front-row start, ahead of team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
