Perez summoned to stewards, podium at risk
Sergio Perez's Azerbaijan Grand Prix podium place under doubt following the Force India driver was summonded to the stewards post-race over improper DRS use. The Mexican capitalised on the final drama in Baku to overtook Sebastian Vettel as the Ferrari driver struggled with a flat-spotted ultra-soft. It gifted Force India its first podium since 2016. Following taking his place on the podium it was confirmed he was under investigation for illegal use of the DRS overtaking aid during the race. Perez already had to serve a five-second time penalty during his second pitstop for passing before the safety car line at the restart from the first caution period early in the race.
