German alliance try to save Hockenheim GP
The German Grand Prix is one of the classics of Formula One, but it has faced plenty of problems in recent times, with the Nurburgring and Hockenheim both facing financial problems. In fact, with the Nurburgring not holding F1 races any more, Germany has only held a Grand Prix every other year in the last few F1 seasons. Liberty Media are keen to keep the German Grand Prix for next season, but a deal is yet to be reached. With the proposed Miami GP being delayed, Germany is at the top of the list for F1 boss Chase Carey, who told German newspaper Bild: “We do not want to give up on Germany, which is an important market for us."
