McLaren to drop Vandoorne rumour dismissed
Stoffel Vandoorne has sadly not lived up to his potential so far at McLaren. The 26-year old looked like he could be an F1 star after two fantastic years in GP2, but has struggled in motorsport’s elite category, scoring just 22 points in 33 races. Ahead of his home Grand Prix this weekend, Vandoorne is without points in his previous eight races, languishing down in 16th in the drivers’ standings, with team mate Fernando Alonso way ahead in 9th, with 44 points. With Alonso retiring at the end of the season, it has been announced that Carlos Sainz will replace him, and there have been rumours that McLaren want to bring in another new driver, with 18-year old Lando Norris expected...
