Fernando Alonso to NASCAR?!
The silliest of all silly seasons might be about to go up a notch? Did McLaren just hint that Fernando Alonso is joining NASCAR?! In all likelihood, we're actually in line for a bit of social-media goodness between Alonso and seven-time cup series champion Jimmie Johnson – but stranger things have happened! Alonso has announced that is quitting Formula 1 at the end of the year, having grown disillusioned with his inability to secure a top drive. IndyCar has been widely expected to be Alonso's destination, with only a victory in the Indianapolis 500 standing between him and matching Graham Hill's unique feat of winning the 'Triple Crown'.
