Lucky Gasly cashed in when Ricciardo ditched Red Bull

Bar the death of Sergio Marchionne and Niki Lauda's lung transplant, Cyril Abiteboul managing to sign Daniel Ricciardo for Renault was the biggest news of a headline packed 2018 Formula 1 season, and now that the dust has long settled it is clear that the biggest winner in this saga is Red Bull's new boy Pierre Gasly. Rewinding to the summer, Ricciardo's move was the coup of the decade on the F1 driver front and caught everyone by surprise, most of all Red Bull management who were disbelieving of the news when delivered by the Aussie.
