Renault boss admits to falling short of expectations

The Renaults of Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg in Bahrain Renault has “fallen short of our high expectations” in the first two rounds of the 2019 Formula 1 championship, says team principal Cyril Abiteboul. The team has one, single points finish to its name from the Australian and Bahrain grands prix, namely Nico Hulkenberg’s seventh at Albert Park. On that occasion, the German drove from 11th on the grid after both he and Daniel Ricciardo missed Qualifying 3.
