Williams and Mercedes extend engine partnership

Williams and Mercedes-Benz have confirmed a long-term power unit partnership extension, until the end of the 2025 F1 season. Williams has been in partnership with Mercedes-Benz since the start of the 2014 season. The Grove team will continue to be supplied with Mercedes power units (Internal Combustion Engine plus Energy Recovery System) by Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) UK for a further five years from 2021, following the conclusion of the original agreement. Williams will continue to manufacture its own transmission. The 2014 regulations saw F1 switch from naturally aspirated 2.4 litre V8 engines to 1.6 litre V6 turbocharged hybrid power units, and Williams has enjoyed a...
