Racing Point lodges protest against Renault brake system

Racing Point has lodged a protest against Renault over an alleged regulation breach at Formula 1’s Japanese Grand Prix. Renault finished seventh and 10th at Suzuka, courtesy of Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg, with the Australian promoted to sixth post-race after penalties for Charles Leclerc. Racing Point initially classified 10th courtesy of Lance Stroll, in the wake of Sergio Perez’s last-lap clash, but a timing systems glitch backdated the results one lap, meaning Perez took ninth and Stroll 11th.
