2022 development banned until 2021, DAS ban remains

Aerodynamic development for the 2022 Formula 1 season has now been prohibited until 2021, the FIA announced on Tuesday. ’21 was supposed to see sweeping changes to the technical regulations, which many described as the biggest in F1’s 70-year history. However due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, the decision was made to defer the changes for one year in order cut costs, meaning the current ’20 cars will also be used in ’21. The announcement means teams can now only focus on their current challengers until the end of the year – whenever that might be!
