Richards: 'Glad I never entered Formula 1'
David Richards has a rich history in motorsport and is founder of Prodrive, a technology company. He was also part of the cradle of Aston Martin Racing and has hesitated several times to start his own Formula 1 team. The Englishman is pleased that this did not happen. "Probably I would have been bankrupt by now". Richards is former team boss of BAR and Benetton. He was also a navigator in rallying in the 80's. Several times he almost entered Formula 1 with his company Prodrive. In 2007 he was in consultation with McLaren but that was not possible because of other projects he was involved in.
