Hachigo: On behalf of Honda, I express our gratitude

Honda have announced they will be focusing on future automotive technologies as they ditch their Formula 1 power-unit programme which will leave Red Bull and Alpha Tauri without engines for 2022 and beyond. The withdrawal by the auto giant from the pinnacle of the sport was announced in a speech by President, Representative Director and CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd, Takahiro Hachigo. This is what he said: Honda has decided to conclude its participation in the FIA Formula One World Championship as a power unit supplier at the end of the 2021 season.
