Silverstone announces hosting the first sprint race of the season!

Recently F1 Management announced that the decision was finally taken: sprint races will be added to the sport, and will be run during 3 races in the current season. At which of the races this would happen was still unclear, but now Silverstone has announced that they will be the first to include a sprint race in their race weekend. On its own website, the management of the legendary circuit said: "Silverstone is delighted to confirm that the British Formula 1 Grand Prix will be the first event to test the Sprint Qualifying format announced by Formula 1 and the FIAon 26 April."
