Perez's father leading efforts for second Mexican GP

Sergio Perez's father Antonio Perez Garibay is heading a plan to bring a second F1 race to Mexico in the future, with Cancun cited as a potential venue. Formula 1 returned to Mexico City in 2015, with the race quickly becoming one of the sport's most popular events. Unfortunately, the country was deprived of its Grand Prix last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but so far F1 is still on track to race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez at the end of October, a week after the US Grand Prix in Austin.
