Hamilton praises Verstappen's pole: Max did an amazing lap!

Article To news overview © Mercedes Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has praised title rival Max Verstappen for a great qualifying lap, after the Dutch driver put in a second flying lap to go 0.038 faster than the Mercedes at the end of Q3. Verstappen's first qualifying lap was, to the thousandth, identical to what Hamilton eventually managed, before Verstappen dug a little deeper on the second run to generate the crucial edge. Hamilton, who shook off some mild booing from the crowd as he spoke to interviewers after qualifying in second place, praised his championship challenger for his qualifying performance.
