CCTV crisis creates Canadian GP practice havoc

A CCTV issue around the track led to the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton needing to be retrieved from the end of the pit lane during practice F1 was left at the mercy of a bitterly frustrating CCTV issue that wrecked the first practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix. The hour-long outing was eventually called off with 10 minutes remaining due to the CCTV woe that emerged shortly after a red flag had been shown to retrieve the stricken Alpine of Pierre Gasly. The session was less than four minutes old when Gasly's car ground to a halt. Despite attempts to get his A523 going again, Gasly was forced to throw in the towel and allow marshals to come to his rescue. That soon sparked a red flag...
