'Double points to be scrapped'

After just one season with double points in the season finale, Formula 1 is set to scrap the controversial rule. Looking at ways to keep fans tuned in until the final lap of the final grand prix, Formula 1 turned to double points for the season finale. The regulation, though, was not welcomed by fans who felt it could artificially influence the Championship. In the end it didn't play a role as Lewis Hamilton romped to the victory while Nico Rosberg could only manage a P14 in Abu Dhabi. That, though, is set be Formula 1's sole foray into double points after the F1 Commission and Strategy Group opted to scrap it.
