Button set to stay McLaren race seat alongside Alonso

Formula One racer Jenson Button will be handed a remarkable reprieve when he is named on Thursday as a McLaren race driver for 2015. The British team has invited select members of the press to an 'important and exclusive media event' at its Woking headquarters on Thursday morning. Formula One 2009 world champion, 34, Jenson Button will partner two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. Brit helped by support from shareholders and engine makers Honda. It is believed Alonso had pleaded for Button to continue on with experience priceless when McLaren go back to Honda as their new engine suppliers in 2015.
