McLaren calm over Jerez performance

– McLaren says it is unconcerned about the performance of its new Honda-powered Formula 1 car, despite a challenging start to pre-season testing.The new MP4-30 ended this week's Jerez test some seven seconds off the pace, and at the bottom of the mileage charts amid persistent technical issues.But McLaren Engineering Director Matt Morris made clear that the team used the gathering to gradually build up speed with its new engine partner."It'd be nice to be further up [the order] but we have great simulator tools these days," explained Morris during a press call at Jerez."We know where we are in terms of performance; we're not running at maximum at the moment.
