Alonso 'uninjured and fine' after Barcelona crash

Getty Images Enlarge Fernando Alonso is "uninjured and fine" after his crash during the fourth day of testing in Barcelona, McLaren has confirmed. Alonso was airlifted to hospital on Sunday morning after crashing on the exit of Turn 3 and coming to a stop on the run down towards Turn 4. Immediately after the crash the circuit and McLaren confirmed he was "OK and conscious" but was being airlifted for precautionary checks. A statement from McLaren followed two hours after lunch before a further update that a CT scan had been completed at hospital and that it had revealed no injuries.
