Alonso thanks fans for support

Fears about Fernando Alonso's condition have been assuaged after his manager published a picture of the McLaren driver in hospital thanking fans for their support. The Spaniard continues to convalesce in hospital following his crash in testing at Barcelona on Sunday. Alonso was airlifted to hospital after hitting the trackside wall at the Circuit de Catalunya on the fourth and final day of the test. Although the two-time world champion was given the all clear by scans, he was kept in hospital overnight for observation after suffering concussion during a heavy impact which was reportedly measured at 30 g-force.
