Has F1 finally got it right with social media?

Over the last 18 months or so, Formula 1 has undergone a considerable transformation both on the track and online. The sport has finally started to embrace social media, and it is a refreshing change from its previous stance. For such a fast sport, F1 has been slow off the mark when it comes to the online world. We all know F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone’s thoughts on the matter. Late last year he said that adopting a greater presence on social media, to try and entice younger people to the sport, would be a waste of time.
