Wolff explains Hamilton strategy call

– Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has explained why the team was reluctant to give Lewis Hamilton the chance to adopt an alternate strategy during the middle phase of the Brazilian Grand Prix.Nico Rosberg and Hamilton initially planned to make only two stops at Interlagos but switched to a three-stop strategy, after Sebastian Vettel, holding third, did the same in his Ferrari.Unable to make a move on Rosberg while running in dirty air, Hamilton requested a different strategy over the radio, but Mercedes only offered the option of pitting later than his team-mate.Wolff has now highlighted the key reason behind Mercedes' decision to hold firm."For Lewis, running P2 was always going to be...
