Independent engine supplier proposal rejected

The F1 Commission have collectively opposed the idea of tendering for cheaper ‘alternative' engine supplier and the four current engine suppliers will collaborate to develop a proposal for simplified and more cost-effective power units. Following a recent Strategy Group meeting, it was announced that the FIA would open a tender for an additional engine supplier to provide a lower-cost alternative to the current power units, designed to aid the teams with financial difficulties.
