Paffett joins Williams as simulator driver

Former McLaren test driver Gary Paffett has joined Williams in the role of simulator driver. Paffett worked for McLaren between 2001 and 2013, logging 72 official test days and more than 22,000kms over that time. He has long been associated with Williams engine supplier Mercedes. An opportunity has opened up because Susie Wolff has left Williams, as has Adrian Sutil, who had the reserve driver role in 2015. Lance Stroll was announced as a development driver last year, while Alex Lynn is also expected to continue with the team.
