Former McLaren tester Gary Paffett joins Williams
McLaren testing stalwart Gary Paffett has joined Williams as a simulator driver. The 1999 McLaren Autosport BRDC award winner has joined the Grove based team as their simulator driver for the 2016 season. The former DTM driver acted as a McLaren test driver between 2005 & 2014, missing out on several race seats with the team over the intervening years. Paffett has a wealth of experience as a test driver. According to Williams, Paffett has taken part in 72 official F1 test days, completing 4971 laps and clocking up 22,745 kilometres. Paffett's new role will see him assist the development department in terms of vehicle science. He will be working closely with the team throughout the year....
