Sainz: We thought we wouldn't make the test

Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz has admitted that the team believed they would not attend the first pre-season test owing to the technical challenges of a late engine switch. The Italian team were set back by the decision to switch from Renault power to year-old Ferrari engines for 2016. A late decision mean't the team faced late design changes to the car. Speaking to media after the test, Carlos Sainz was pleased with the performance of the car given the rushed circumstances of the test. 'Good impressions for sure.
