Arai to be replaced as Honda F1 boss

McLaren Honda Yasuhisa Arai will step down from his role as Honda's Formula 1 boss next week, having been moved to a different role within the Japanese corporation. Arai has been Honda's motorsport boss since the manufacturer returned to Formula 1 as engine supplier to McLaren, though the partnership endured a troublesome 2015 and placed only ninth in the standings. Effective March 1, Arai will be replaced by Yusuke Hasegawa while a new role has been created to oversee the entire project, with Honda confirming Yoshiyuki Matsumoto as a Supervising Director.
