Red Bull presents canopy proposal

Red Bull Red Bull has presented its proposal for increased head protection in Formula 1, as the sport moves closer to the halo concept for 2017. Increased head protection has been a focal point for safety enhancements and the halo concept, originally proposed by Mercedes, is the favoured option. The device was tested during pre-season by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen, who both completed a lap with the halo mounted on the SF16-H. Red Bull has now presented its proposal of a transparent canopy, though the halo remains the FIA’s preference for 2017.
