Verstappen elated by career-high grid spot
– Max Verstappen admitted he was surprised by his career-high qualifying result of fifth and praised Toro Rosso for improving his STR11 after struggling during the final practice session.Despite placing sixth earlier in the day, Verstappen conceded that he was ill at ease with his Toro Rosso, and was consequently able to improve throughout qualifying, ending the day in fifth position."It was a good qualifying session, especially after FP3, where I was struggling a bit with the car," he said."We managed to turn it around and to be P5 – a career best – here in Melbourne is a great achievement by the whole team!"If I'm honest, I'm a bit surprised with the result...
