Ecclestone: New qualifying needs chance

– Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is in favour of keeping the sport's new qualifying format beyond the first race, despite talk of reverting back to the old system.Formula 1's knockout qualifying debuted in Australia, but was heavily criticised as much of the action occurred at the start of sessions, as opposed to the closing minutes.Ahead of the race, Formula 1 agreed to return to the previous format, used from 2006-2015, though nothing is set in stone ahead of the next round of the season in Bahrain.Ecclestone, in an interview Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, says he feels there is still scope for the new system to work, providing a few tweaks are made."I was...
