Potential Las Vegas race wouldn't replace Austin - Ecclestone

A Las Vegas Grand Prix would not replace the current host of the United States Grand Prix in Austin if a deal can be reached to get the Nevada-based event on the calendar in the future, according to Bernie Ecclestone. Ecclestone recently revealed that the gambling-capital of the world holds a contract to host a race but had yet to sign it. Speaking to Motorsport, the 85-year-old said he was due to discuss the proposal further with potential organisers on Friday evening but promised it wouldn't take on the title of the 'United States Grand Prix', which would remain with Austin.
