2 year flashback – The Bahraini desert duel

Bahrain 2014 always was going to be a interesting race even before the new V6 engines started. The thousands of floodlights, covering a track so often criticised, naturally looked set to deliver a memorable debut night race at the Sakhir Circuit. The dominance of the Mercedes duo already witnessed throughout the opening races was widely expected, and the pole position for Nico Rosberg and second place for Lewis Hamilton came as no surpise. As the lights went out at 6PM local time, Rosberg led the pack away but Hamilton made a strong start and took the lead at the first corner.
