FIA announce tyre test regulation changes
The FIA have revealed that Pirelli will be able to carry out additional days of testing starting this season. Pirelli had threatened to pull out of F1 if the FIA didn't announce a program that would allow the tyre manufacturer to carry out testing of the new structures set to be introduced in 2017. The proposal is to make tyres more durable, with less degradation and less wear, giving drivers a bigger opportunity to exploit their grip. On Wednesday, the World Motorsport Council approved changes to the regulations that will allow Pirelli to carry out testing, 25 days of addition testing carried out over 2016, 2017 & 2018.
