F1 set to introduce 'halo' over 'aeroscreen'

– Formula 1 has reportedly decided to introduce the 'halo' cockpit protection system over the alternate 'aeroscreen' for 2017, following the latest technical meeting at the Monaco Grand Prix.According to a report by the BBC, technical chiefs have agreed that the halo is the more ready of the two devices, though work will continue on the aeroscreen with a view to introducing it in 2018.Ferrari tested a mock-up of the halo, which wraps around the cockpit in the form of three struts, during pre-season testing, before Red Bull debuted its aeroscreen in Russian Grand Prix practice.Although the aeroscreen was regarded as a more elegant solution, doubts remain over driver visibility, and...
