Wehrlein reprimanded for VSC infringement
Pascal Wehrlein has been handed a reprimand for not following the Virtual Safety Car rules during first free practice for the Austrian Grand Prix. The Manor driver was summoned to see the stewards after the morning's running for not having slowed enough during a virtual safety car period. In a statement issued by the stewards, the FIA said: “The driver gave evidence that he thought his speed would reduce much quicker than it did, and that he was surprised at how long it took to get to within the correct time due to this occurring on a very fast straight, which he had not previously experienced. “Accordingly, a reprimand is deemed the appropriate penalty.” This is Wehrlein's first...
