Mercedes Water Leak Sidelines Rosberg
British Grand Prix – Mercedes have confirmed that a water leak was the main reason for Rosberg missing the second free practice session. The championship leader was unable to complete a single lap of free practice two following the discovery of a water leak prior to the session. The issue was believed to be solved part-way through the session, which resulted in Rosberg being seated and prepared to take to the track. However, according to Mercedes' exectutive director (technical) Paddy Lowe, the team elected not to run the car in order to complete further assessments and avoid damaging the car. 'We ran through a very good programme in FP1 on the medium tyre without any issues....
