Mercedes withdraws penalty appeal notice
– Mercedes has withdrawn its notice of intention to appeal Nico Rosberg's post-race time penalty over a radio transmission regulation breach at the British Grand Prix.Rosberg, having encountered a gearbox issue late in Sunday's race, was told by his engineer to change a setting on his steering wheel, and to avoid using seventh gear.Mercedes was soon placed under investigation, with the stewards reaching the conclusion that Rosberg was aided by the messages, and handing out a 10-second penalty.Rosberg dropped from second to third, behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen, while his championship lead over race-winning team-mate Lewis Hamilton was cut to just one point.Mercedes initially lodged...
