Wehrlein upbeat as Manor edges Sauber

Manor Racing Pascal Wehrlein played down the disappointment of narrowly missing out on a slot in Q2 as both he and Manor team-mate Rio Haryanto finished ahead of rivals Sauber at the German Grand Prix Wehrlein set the 18th quickest time during qualifying, classifying in front of Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat, Haryanto and Sauber pair Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson. Wehrlein missed out on making it through to Q2 by just 0.15s at his home event but insists he is encouraged by Manor's performance. "We were very close to Q2 today - just 0.15s - but I’m very happy with our qualifying because we managed to stay in front of Sauber, and also a Toro Rosso, which is positive," he said....
