Verstappen: Red Bull have a good car but wary of Mercedes Max Verstappen fastest a surprise Red Bull one-two in second practice for Belgian Grand Prix as F1 roared back into the battle following its summer break. Mercedes posted quickest lap-time in the morning session but it was Red Bull who emerged fastest in the afternoon with Verstappen clocking a lap of 1:48.085 to finished a quarter of a second ahead of Ricciardo. Mercedes’ speedy and championship leader Hamilton took a 15-place grid penalty in the morning session for having changed too many engine parts, and took another 15-place hit following another component change for the afternoon.
