Tost admits Toro Rosso exceeded expectations

Scuderia Toro Rosso boss Franz Tost says that the Italian team exceeded expectations as Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz qualified sixth and seventh in Singapore. STR had two bad races in Belgium and Italy, where it paid the price for a lack of engine development, but Singapore has demonstrated the potential of the chassis. "I said we knew from the beginning that Spa and Monza would be difficult because of the straights and last year's power unit," Tost told Motorsport.com.
