FIA: Procedure not followed with marshal
– F1's governing body, the FIA, is seeking answers over a miscommunication that led to a marshal being left out on track after a Safety Car restart in the Singapore Grand Prix.Race Control deployed the Safety Car after Nico Hülkenberg's startline collision with Carlos Sainz Jr., which left the heavily-damaged Force India stranded on the main straight.It only circulated for one lap, with the pack released again on lap three, but a marshal was still collecting debris down at the first corner, and had to sprint off the racing line.An FIA spokesperson stated to GPUpdate.net that "the FIA procedure has not been properly executed by the team that works under the orders of the Clerk...
