Prost's title number four

©CahierArchive On this day in 1993, Alain Prost became a four-time world champion with second place in the Portuguese Grand Prix. The Frenchman had enjoyed a largely dominant year with Williams and took full advantage to wrap up the championship with two races still remaining after Ayrton Senna retired from the race. Here, he celebrates on the podium with team-mate Damon Hill and race-winner Michael Schumacher, who would go on to eclipse Prost's achievements.
