Ferrari appeal over Vettel penalty rejected
– Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, has rejected Ferrari's appeal over Sebastian Vettel's penalty in the wake of the Mexican Grand Prix, which demoted him from the podium to fifth position.Ferrari claimed on Thursday that it had "new evidence" over Vettel's battle with Red Bull rival Daniel Ricciardo, which led to Vettel being given a 10-second time penalty for dangerous driving.Full statement from the stewards:The Stewards of the 2016 Mexican Grand Prix convened a hearing today at 16:45 hrsBrazil time, to hear a request from the entrant of Car 5, Scuderia Ferrari, to review thedecision in Document 38 from that event.The request was lodged in accordance with Article 14.1...
